The Battle Of The Fist Of The First Men
While this battle from “A Clash Of Kings” was not shown in the show, only implied to have happened between the Season 2 Finale and the Season 3 Premiere, one cannot stop but fathom at how epic this battle between the Rangers of the Night’s Watch and the White Walkers would have transpired on screen. We do get the see its aftermath in the show once Mance Rayder, Jon Snow and their party of Wildlings reach the Fist of the First Men in “Walk of Punishment”, the third episode of the third season. “Always The Artists” as Mance would say…
Daenerys Targaryen and Drogon
This drawing beautifully portrayed the scene from “A Dance With Dragons”, years before HBO did likewise in the penultimate episode of their fifth season of the show. Having been missing for throughout the book/season, Drogon comes to save the day and rescue its mother from the carnage caused at the ceremonial re-opening of the fighting pits of Mereen.
Jon Snow and Ghost by The Wall
The Bastard of Winterfell and his Direwolf Ghost stand on the edge of The Wall. “And Now His Watch Begins…..” The Crows on the ground add a nice touch to it as well.
Baratheon Army – “Ours Is The Fury”
While this image was originally designed for the “Guild Wars” game series by Kekai Kotaki, some anonymous (as far as we know) artist took it upon him/herself to change its tone to a more yellow one, as well as its look to fit the Baratheon army, stag helmets and banners everywhere. Any fan of King Robert, Renly, even Stannis for that matter, needs this one as a wallpaper.
Robert Baratheon & Ned Stark At The Battle Of Pyke
The Stag and the Wolf! This stunning image portrays King Robert and Lord Eddard Stark at the Siege of Pyke during the Greyjoy’s Rebellion. Balon Greyjoy rebelled against the throne 6 years after Robert had acquired the throne following his rebellion. The victory of the crown would lead to Theon Greyjoy becoming a ward of the Starks to keep Balon and the Iron Islanders in check.
The Battle Of The Blackwater
The Epic Battle that both the second book and second season had built up to, the Lannister/Baratheon forces of King Joffrey stand guard against Stannis Baratheon’s Siege towards Kings Landing. Having Tyrion as the Hand of the King proved to be a wise move on Tywin Lannister’s part, as he prepared the city to stand its ground from the Baratheon invading army. Having 7,800 barrels of Wildfire sure proved in handy as well, completely decimating the majority of his ships, completely crippling his forces for a ground attack. This image also features the chain that Bronn pulls to block the ships, an event from the battle that was discarded in the show.
The Siege Of Winterfell
Stannis Baratheon, the One True King Of Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms lays his reduced army near the gates of Winterfell against the Boltons. Book Readers cringed here as that battle has yet to occur in “The Winds Of Winter”, the sixth much awaited installment of the “A Song Of Ice And Fire” series. The HBO show gave us Stannis’ demise….. or have they?
Robert Baratheon Kills Rhaegar Targaryen At The Battle Of The Trident
“Rhaegar fought valiantly, Rhaegar fought nobly, Rhaegar fought honorably. And Rhaegar died.”. The future king, then rebel, Robert Baratheon kills the heir to the throne, Rhaegar Targaryen at the bottle of the Trident, in the Riverlands. A battle that will shift Robert’s Rebellion, and lead him closer to victory and the Iron Throne.
Arya Kills With Needle
Arya Stark makes good use of her sword Needle when confronted by Lannister men. The sword, a gift her half brother (or maybe cousin, who knows….) had offered her before his trip to Castle Black, and hers to Kings Landing, has been by her side for almost all of the series. It is now an extension of her.
The Night King In The Land Of Always Winter
While he is only mentioned in the books, the HBO show did not wait to introduce us to the leader of the Others and the Wights, the White Walkers as they are referred to in the series. This artwork does have some calmness to it, all brought by the void of the infinite cold from The Land Of Always Winter.
